Programming and Curriculums
The Centre operates in a family grouped setting, along with a separate dinning and rest area. Our educators aim to build a trusting and secure environment for both the children and parents. Our play-based learning curriculum is based around children's interests, a range of activities and experiences are offered for each child, which are designed to foster the development of the "whole child" throughout all stages of their development.
The children's curriculums are informed by the Early Years Learning Framework. Each child's current knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities and interests underpins the curriculum for each group.
The children's curriculums provide a balance of indoor and outdoor learning environments that are flexible and cater to diverse interests, needs and learning capacities. Children are able to choose their own resources, materials and environment, which helps to contribute to each child's sense of belonging and challenges them to explore new possibilities.
Documentation and Displays
Documentation and displays are integral to our program. These displays inform families that we value the processes involved in the children's learning. Each child's learning and development is assessed as part of an ongoing cycle that includes planning, documenting and evaluating children's learning.
The children's portfolios document each child's learning journey, and are available for children, parents, guardians and family members to have a read of their own child's portfolio at any time.
A visual diary is on display in the foyer. The visual diary gives you an insight into the fun, learning, interests and play that takes place in your child's day. Please take the time to look and read this diary to share in your child's time at the Centre.
